DIAGNOSTIC GUIDANCE
Typical faults and symptoms
These symptoms can have different causes. The module reference and diagnostic checks help confirm the fault and assess the repair.
Injector control fault
One or more injectors do not receive the correct command. The injector and wiring are checked before confirming an output-stage fault.
Cylinder not firing / misfires
The engine runs unevenly or a cylinder does not contribute. Injection and ignition are checked alongside mechanical condition; this symptom alone does not confirm a faulty ECU.
Throttle control fault
The throttle does not respond correctly or control and adaptation errors occur. The throttle body, wiring and ECU control circuit are checked.
Sensor supply fault
The 5 V reference line is abnormal. Internal electronics or an external short in a sensor or wiring may be responsible.
No start or lost communication
The ECU does not respond, communication drops out or the engine stops. Supply, grounds and CAN wiring are checked before blaming the unit.
